PMDG 737NGX -800/900 for Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D is a good on screen software for a 737 simulation. If you plan to make a full size sim with P3D we do recommend you to use a ( cockpit suite software for many reasons )

We do recommend you B737-800X (ZIBO mod) if you like a X-Plane based system.



we do not recommend any for FSX as Dovetail Games FSX steam has stopped development and are still 32 Bit system. FSX is built as a 32-bit app, even under 64-bit Windows.

Around the years of 1981-82, Microsoft obtained the license to port the simulator to IBM compatible PCs. This version was released in November 1982 as Microsoft Flight Simulator, and featured an improved graphics engine, variable weather and time of day, and a new coordinate system (used by all subsequent versions up to version 5).
Advertisements claimed “If flying your IBM PC got any more realistic, you’d need a license”, and promised “a full-color, out-the-window flight display”.[5] Early versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator were used as a test for PC compatibility. If a computer could run MSFS 1.0 and Lotus 1-2-3, it was 100% IBM PC-compatible, and if it could not, it was not.
Compatibility difficulty included the unusual use of the x86 assembly DIV command, where a “DIVIDE BY ZERO” command would be issued every time a screen refresh was needed. This technique often required hardware changes to assure compatibility with MSFS 1.0 software.[citation needed]
Some planes in this version came with special features such as the Sopwith Camel, which had two additional gameplay features; the dogfight mode and the ability to use it for crop-dusting.

The team over at ProSim have announced on their Facebook page some details and screenshots of their upcoming Boeing 737 model for P3D v4 users!

Why do H.C.B.C recommend a cockpit suite software for a airliner ? 

The problem with a onscreen model to build a full size is that all logic’s run from inside the simulators core engine.

This pull a lot more FPS than a cockpit suite software that run outside the core engine in a network setup. Software ment for a cockpit build do also in most of the time have better logic’s for advanced systems and simulate the plane much better. The people that try use a onscreen software for a full size do meet another problem as the communication also then are FPS dependent, as all the logics then need use the internal Communication protocol of the sim.

Electronics will therefor not have more “speed” of communication than flight sim frame per second ( FPS ).

In a big system it has been proven that this can result in a lot of lag.

A big systems need other set up with external communication for all the internal stuff and only send end result to the simulator in a network set up, as to belive 10 screens from one PC + external view will give you the FPS you need is a illusjon !!. Remember a 737 have upper eicas screen , lover eicas screen, FO screen , Cap screen. FMC 1 screen , FMC 2 Screen , instructor station screen , + 3 outside views ) The software you need for a full cockpit build is a system that can simulate dual radio audio system. and full dual simulation of all systems + the different channels of sounds for a split up ( over head speaker , headset. FO, Cap with independent control ) in a network setup is simply not a part of a normal onscreen software ment for one person in front of one pc with one screen.

Channels to interface such as cockpit lights , channels for stick shakers and other things with correct logics ,  “are there power on plane to drive them” ( a simple stall offset will not work as real logics at all as this will still trigger shaker even if in real world the motor not have power due to lack of power, as an example ) this is also the reason why you see so many 737 and A320 simulators.

A good cockpit suite software also have the  interface module for all channels needed for a full dual systems simulation. so if we could use a onscreen software for this you would find all sorts of simulators such as Q400, F50 …… as a simulator. But all can be done but then with a lot bigger insight and skills, sometimes also in direct contact with the flight model developer to get access to internal logics, to make a airliner sim this way. 

Remember all hardware in a sim like a autopilot do not have any logics . Good software will make all the hardware work better, as all hardware just mimic’s a software.


10 tips from H.C.B.C how to and avoid troubles with your sim 

1: always make a win restore point before any updates or installation upgrades of your sim ( this way you can roll back if something goes wrong.

2: make sure windows do not have any power saving for USB’s enabled. ( also check this after a win update as sometimes this make it go back on , it is on by default )

3: make sure you always have latest update of windows and Net frame work on PC as this is not always updated with a win update.

4: Always run a installation and FS as ADMIN, this is not done by default in windows even if you are the only user

5: make sure P3D did install simconnect

6: use latest version of FSUIPC

7: run your FS in full screen, and have same resolution set up in win as your sim.

8: if you always remove menu bar in flight sim after use you get better FPS ( hold down ALT )

9 : make sure your sim folder shared with full access for all users on local or in a network setup and when you use stand alone software connected to your sim.

10 : install software with hi use of communication on FS pc to not over load your network or make additional lag .
ps !! also install p3d,FSX X-plane in default folder/drive as you can get problems with addons if you do your own
